Welcome to Year 5!
Year 5 have a very busy half term ahead of them. Our topic will be on Rainforests where we will be exploring the effects of deforestation, the different layers of a Rainforest and why they are so vital to our planet. The children will be also looking at animals which are facing extinction and ways in which they can be saved.
The children will also be rehearsing for their Morning of Music performances on March 22nd at St Lawrence's Primary School and March 23rd at The Belgrade Theatre. The theme of this year's performances is Best of British with songs based on different decades of British music.
Throughout this half term the children will also have lots of opportunities to explore a range of scientific enquiries. On March 12th to 19th, it is Science week and we will be exploring the importance of insects in our school environment. The children will also be visiting Sidney Stringer Secondary School so that they can experience science in a laboratory with specialist Science teachers.4
