Welcome to Year 5!
This half term, we will be learning about Natural Disasters. This a topical unit and we are sure that you can speak to your children about the natural disasters happening at the moment. The children will be focusing on the weird, wonderful and catastrophic effects of the natural world. To begin with the children will be learning about how volcanoes work, volcanoes throughout history and experimenting with which substances create the largest volcanic eruption. Following this, Year 5 will be learning about tornadoes, earthquakes and floods. Over the course of the half term your child will be receiving a natural disasters homework pack, we hope that you will enjoy supporting your children in completing all of the projects. We will be rewarding your children with many, many WOWS when the packs are returned completed! Enjoy!
